We are the 41st Legislative District Democrats. We live in Bellevue, Mercer Island, Issaquah, Sammamish, Newcastle, and portions of unincorporated King County. Some of us are in the 1st Congressional District, some in the 8th Congressional District and some in the 9th Congressional District. Our District also covers multiple school districts including Mercer Island, Lake Washington, Issaquah and Bellevue.
We work together to support candidates and elected officials who are competent, ethical and responsible and who uphold Democratic values.
We believe is our duty to protect our environment and preserve it for future generations. We seek economic policies that are just, sustainable and responsible. We believe that actions should be taken to combat the climate crisis and ensure the cleanliness of our air, water and agricultural lands.
We believe in vigorously preserving the rights guaranteed by our federal and state constitutions which are crucial to maintaining democracy.
We value a safe society and support measures to reduce gun violence, emphasize prevention of crime, restorative justice and rehabilitation.
We believe that a high quality free public school system is essential to a democratic society. We support efforts to make public universities and vocational schools tuition free.
We support providing housing options for those who are unable to afford market rate housing.
We believe that healthcare is a basic human right and that we have a mutual responsibility to ensure accessible, timely and affordable healthcare to all.
We encourage voter participation to the maximum extent possible with a voting process that is fair, transparent and open to all citizens.
We recognize that we are a nation of immigrants and view immigration not just as a problem to be solved but as a defining aspect of our shared history and the American character.
